Catching My Breath!

This year has been unbelievably busy around here.   In February we sold our flock of sheep and built a big stall in the shed so we could finally get the horse I’ve wanted since I was old enough to talk.  By mid-March we were moving our girl in and trying to get the hand of being horse owners and bottle raising goat kids at the same time.

April saw the beginning of the Pilgrim goose laying season, from the arrival of the first egg, until last week, the incubator was going nonstop and I was hand turning eggs six times a day.  We continued to ship eggs through mid-June.  And as of yesterday, the last goslings of 2014 have been hatched by one of our geese.  In May we received our first two shipments of day old pheasants (let me tell you, they make raising chickens and geese look like a walk in the park).

Some of the goslings we hatched this year, enjoying the summer days at their new home.

Finally, the 4-H show season is almost complete, with the General Project Show behind us, my daughter’s dog obedience and showmanship trial being held on June 19th, and my son and daughter showing livestock on June 22nd.

So I’ve taken a few days to catch my breath & now it’s time to prepare for the holiday rush!  That may seem odd to hear, it’s only July…  But with more orders coming in for portraits, it really isn’t so far away at all.

I have changed the set up in my Etsy shop to offer you the ability to purchase your custom painting with the greatest ease.  I’ve listings for the most requested sizes and each listing displays an example of a previously completed portrait in that size.  I believe I’ve covered all the bases with regard to frequently asked questions, however if you have one I may have missed – please don’t hesitate to drop me an email at:  joycebrandonart@gmail.com

Have a beautiful day!
